The LSU Ag Center Food Innovation Center Incubator would offer entrepreneurs space for developing and promoting a broad array of food products by providing the food service processes, technical laboratories, learning and educational programming, marketing expertise and administrative services to effectively develop their food products.
The goal is to enable innovative entrepreneurs to develop new product prototypes; tested and evaluated, produced in a state-of-the-art food processing facility that meets the regulatory standards of local, state and federal (both FDA and USDA) agencies.
The LSU Ag Center will build a unique facility that can support the program’s goals. A facility of 25,000 gross square feet at a cost of approximately $7,500,000.00 developed in two phases would allow the program to mature over a 5 year period and ultimately becoming a flagship facility for innovation.
